Brick Recycling Event Promotes Earth Day April 22

Posted on April 18, 2017 By

Brick Recycling Company, with locations in Brick and Wall townships, is participating in a major recycling event in conjunction with Brick Township’s 7th annual Green Fair on Earth Day Saturday, April 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Brick Township High School, 346 Chambersbridge Road.

Because Brick Recycling Company wants to get unused electronic gadgets out of residents’ drawers, closets, and basements, the family-owned business will be present at the Green Fair to collect and haul them away for free. Brick staff and volunteers will remove devices from residents’ vehicles at the Green Fair drop off point in front of Brick High School.

Although televisions and cathode ray tube (CRT) devices cannot be accepted at the Green Fair, computers towers (no monitors), cell phones, laptops, CD players, radios, digital toys, VCRs, cassette players, printers, and all other electronics and metal items will be accepted.

Both private and commercial traffic are welcome to bring scrap metal and electronic recycling to the event or to the company’s facilities at 2480 Old Hooper Avenue, Brick; and 5310 Route 33/34, Wall (across from the Collingwood Auction & Flea Market) if they cannot make the event.

This is the third year Brick Recycling will be joining dozens of local green businesses and organizations, vendors, and exhibitors at the Brick Township Green Fair, a community event. “We are a second generation, family-owned business that has lived and operated in the town for 18 years,” said Peter DeCenzo, president and co-owner of Brick Recycling. “We love that this event promotes the environment, and we can help our families, friends and neighbors too.”

The Brick Recycling collecton event and the Green Fair coincide with Earth Day, first held on April 22, 1970. That date is often credited with launching the modern environmental movement.
