Demand Growing — OHI Opens Its Fifth State-of-the-Art Health Center in Five Years

The public is invited to celebrate the opening of OHI’s (Ocean Health Initiatives) newest state-of-the-art health center in Ocean County, Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Sea Oaks Medical Campus, 798 Route 539, Building 3, Little Egg Harbor, N.J. 08087.

The OHI health center will focus on family medicine. The Little Egg Harbor facility has 12 exam rooms, four dental chairs, a pharmacy, and LabCorp. Services include pediatrics, maternal and child health, prenatal, universal immunizations, behavioral health, dental, family medicine, internal medicine, OB/GYN, podiatry and social services.

Congressman Frank LoBiondo and Senator Chris Connors have been invited to speak. David Schlick, deputy mayor of Little Egg Harbor Township; Susan Marshall, mayor of Tuckerton; and Melissa McCooley, superintendent of schools, Little Egg Harbor Township will be among the dignitaries.

Dr. Theresa Berger, CEO and president of OHI, said, “OHI is in an exciting time of continuous development, as we are opening our fifth site in the last five years.  We are proud to now offer the residents of Southern Ocean County a brand new state-of-the-art health center at a prime location.”

The opening of OHI’s news health center coincides with National Health Center Week, which recognizes the success of delivering health care through the work and programs of Community Health Centers, and raise awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s Health Centers, the largest and most successful system of primary health care.

OHI is a 501 (c)(3) federally qualified health center (FQHC) with locations in Lakewood, Toms River, Manahawkin and Lakehurst.  Its mission is to positively impact the health and wellness of those who are uninsured and underinsured, homeless, and people with limited English proficiency. A sliding-fee scale is available, based on an individual’s or family’s ability to pay.

Attendees are invited to an open house, tours of the new facility, and light refreshments.  Information about OHI and its services will be available.
