Local Appraiser Sam Levi Earns MAI Designation

Samuel Levi, Lakewood, the principal and managing partner of Starmark Valuations & Starmark Appraisals, 603 West County Line Road, Lakewood, recently earned his MAI, a professional designation held by appraisers experienced in the valuation and evaluation of commercial, industrial, and residential properties. To earn this designation from the Appraisal Institute, one must complete extensive education requirements and pass a comprehensive exam.

As a qualified MAI designee, Levi can advise clients about real estate investment decisions. He will be focusing on appraisals for the commercial market and conduct evaluation consulting for tax purposes, litigation, and financing.

Before joining Starmark, Levi was a senior appraiser for Tony Kamand Realty, Toms River.  He is the Municipal Appraiser for Lakewood Township. During his 11-year career, Levi conducted appraisals on such property types as apartment buildings, industrial, vacant land, subdivision, and mixed uses; and made hundreds of appearances as an expert witness before County Tax Boards and the N.J. State Tax Court.

Besides membership in MAI, Levi is active in the local chapter of the Appraisal Institute.

Levi received his B.A. in 1995 from the Talmudic Yeshiva of Philadelphia, and his Masters Degree in 2002 from Beth Medrash Govoha, Lakewood.
