Polese-Grosso Named CEO of Family Planning Center of Ocean County

Gina Polese-Grosso, Toms River, has been named CEO and president of the Family Planning Center of Ocean County, 290 River Avenue, Lakewood.  As CEO, Polese-Grosso will be in charge of the overall management of the agency and supervision of the professional staff.  She will also provide leadership in the development of programs, and organizational and financial plans.

Before joining the Family Planning Center, for 35 years Polese-Grosso did grant writing, program implementation, and program and fiscal management throughout Ocean County for Preferred Children’s Services and Preferred Behavioral Health.

Polese-Grosso, a graduate of Brick Township High School, earned an A.A. with a concentration in sociology from Ocean County College; a B.A. in psychology from Montclair State University; and an M.S.W. from Rutgers University in individual, group and family therapy. She also is a certified school social worker, a licensed clinical social worker, and a certified clinical supervisor in social work.

Polese-Grosso has served on the Ocean County Children’s Intra Agency Coordinating Council, the Children’s Systems Review, the Ocean County Youth Service Commission, the Youth Standing Committee of the Workforce Investment Board, Ocean County PACADA (Provider Advisory Committee on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse), and Ocean County DART, a drug and alcohol coalition. She is a board member of the Ocean Partnership for Children, serving as the vice chairwoman, HR chairwoman, and a member of the executive committee.

About the Family Planning Center of Ocean County (FPCOC):  The Family Planning Center offers confidential services to women, men and adolescents, including exams, birth control, natural family planning information and education, testing and treating of sexually transmitted infections (STI), free HIV testing, free pregnancy testing for adolescents and uninsured new patients, colposcopy and cryotherapy, emergency contraception for uninsured individuals, free STI testing for those 29 and younger, and free Pap screening for uninsured.

The usual hours of operation are Lakewood: 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 9:00 a.m. -4:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday. In Manahawkin: 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
