Preferred Home Health Care Hires Director of Nursing for Its Brick Office

Mary Barbes, Whiting, N.J., has been named the director of nursing of the Brick Township office of Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services (PHHC), with headquarters in Eatontown. As the director of nursing, Barbes is responsible for directing the staff and clinical supervisors, overseeing patient care services in the home, and making sure all services are coordinated.

Prior to joining PHHC, Barbes was the director of nursing at Carousel Home Care, Freehold, where she handled the day-to-day operations and supervised a team of clinical and nonclinical health care professionals.

Barbes holds an Associates of Science degree in nursing (1994) from Ocean County College, Toms River. She earned a B.S. (2010) and an M.S.in nursing (2012) from Kean University, Union, N.J.

Barbes is certified in ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support), and EKG interpretation. She is a member of the American Nursing Association (A.N.A.) and is a member of the Staffing Committee of Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, Lakewood, N.J.
