Preferred Outgrows Hackensack Location – Opens in Elmwood Park
Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services (PHHC), with headquarters in Eatontown, N.J., recently doubled its Bergen County office space by moving its Hackensack branch to Elmwood Park at 669 River Drive, Suite 130.
Jennifer Rasin, Elmwood Park branch manager of PHHC, says, “The location is great; we even have onsite parking. The internal space is much more open and inviting. We alsoofficially have our own training and skills lab so we can provide our LPNs and RNs with additional training support in pediatric and adult care, and we can provide Continuing Educational Units for all licensed staff. Special attention can be given to respiratory care, including one-on-one ventilator and tracheostomy (vent/ trach) training, which our nursing staff specializes in for pediatric and adult vent/trach clients.
Officials from the Elmwood Park Town Council and the Chamber of Commerce welcomed officials from Preferred. Joel Markel, the founder and CEO of PHHC, said, “Elmwood Park will give our staff room for a much needed training and skills lab, which will allow us to better service all of the surrounding communities.”
PHHC, which has nine locations in New Jersey and three in Pennsylvania, provides a wide range of medical and non-medical home health care services from pediatric to geriatric care. PHHC, accredited by CHAP* (Community Health Accreditation Program), works collaboratively with physicians, hospitals, nursing homes and facilities to ensure a smooth transition to one’s home.
In-house services include skilled nursing care for infants, children, adults, and seniors; personal care services, including bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, etc.; private duty nursing services; and at-home physical therapy, among others. All of the care can be provided in-house and is coordinated by registered nurses, with clinical supervision available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
