Rose Garden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 1579 Old Freehold Road, Toms River, has been identified by U.S. News & World Report as one of U.S. News Best Nursing Homes for 2016-17 in New Jersey (http://health.usnews.com/best-nursing-homes) out of 15,000 homes evaluated nationwide.

To qualify as one of the top providers, “facilities had to earn an average of 4.5 stars or better during the 12 months of federal reports, ending October 2016 and had to consistently meet certain performance standings during that period.” (U.S. News & World Report)

Rose Garden, opened in 2005, is a sub-acute facility that provides physical, occupational and speech therapy rehabilitative services; cardiac care for chronic cardiac issues and those recovering from surgery; postoperative and orthopedic needs, and long-term care, seven days a week.

Its staff includes professionals in the fields of mental health, neurology, social services, and podiatry, among others. Laboratory services and X-rays are available seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

Andrew Shawn, the owner-operator of Rose Garden for more than 35 years, holds an M.A. in administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Rutherford, N.J. He says, “Our guiding principle, ‘The Rose Garden Way,’ ensures a productive and comfortable, homelike environment, staffed with experienced professionals. It’s rewarding to know that U.S. News & World Report has recognized us as one of New Jersey’s top providers.”

According to U.S. News & World Report, considered a leading expert in the evaluation and rating of health care providers across the country, “Several million Americans will spend at least some time in a nursing home this year, whether undergoing rehab after a hospital stay or as long-term residents,” said Brian Kelly, editor and chief content officer of U.S. News.

“Finding a nursing home that meets an individual’s specific needs can be challenging for families. Our nursing home ratings are designed to help potential residents and their loved ones navigate this difficult process.”
