Lakewood Township Celebrates Labor Day with Fireworks
Lakewood Township, N.J., will be celebrating Labor Day with fireworks on Sunday, September 4. The fireworks display will begin around 9:00 p.m. and can be viewed near Lake Carasaljo (off Route 9) either from North or South Lake Drive.
The fireworks had originally been scheduled around the Fourth of July; however, extremely inclement weather that evening forced Township officials to postpone the fireworks. Volunteer D.J. Jr. from Mash Entertainment, Lakewood, will provide music before the fireworks.
Labor Day, a national holiday first observed on September 5, 1882, now traditionally signals the symbolic end of summer.
