100.1 WJRZ’s 14th Annual Women’s Expo Draws 1500 People
More than 50 exhibitors and 1,500 people attended 100.1 WJRZ’s 14th Annual Women’s Expo on this February at the Pine Belt Arena, Old Freehold Road, Toms River, N.J. The first 500 people received makeup and lotion samples courtesy of L’Oréal. Attendees also enjoyed cheese and butter samples from Finlandia; salad from iPlay America, Freehold; and food from the catering menu of Mulberry Street, Brick.
Sniptease Hair Studio, Toms River, gave free haircuts; and Bobbi Brown Cosmetics from Macy’s of Monmouth Mall provided free makeup lessons. Demonstrations included cake decorating by Jenni Cakes, Toms River, who showed how to make a cupcake bouquet.
Dr. Sumy Chang a fellowship trained Breast Surgeon from Barnabas Health Medical Group, who holds hospital privileges at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, and Community Medical Center, Toms River, talked about signs and symptoms of Breast Cancer. Dr. Manpreet Kohli, fellowship trained breast surgeon also from Barnabas Health Medical Group, discussed “Taking Control of your Breast Health.”
Attendees had an opportunity to win prizes, such as $1,000 to Michael’s Furniture, Brick; round trip airfare for two to Punta Cana or Cancun courtesy of Apple Vacations, Philadelphia; and tickets to the Broadway show Wicked, courtesy of Inflamax Research.
A special appearance and interactive performance by internationally known medium Marisa Liza Pell left attendees shocked and touched by her performance. According to Marie Senkeleski, promotions director for 100.1 WJRZ, “Tissues had to be handed out as she mentioned personal messages from ‘beyond’ for people in the audience.” 100.1 WJRZ will be presenting a special show with Marisa Liza Pell at The Strand Theatre, 400 Clifton Avenue, Lakewood, on April 21 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at www.Strand.org .
