August Shows at the Strand Theater, Lakewood

Posted on July 26, 2023 By

The Strand Center for the Arts, 400 Clifton Avenue, Lakewood, N.J., is featuring two shows this August: The “Cast” of Beatlemania, August 18; and Classic Skynyrd Live with Special Guest Southern Steel, August 19.

Beatles music set the pop rock standard for most of the 1960’s. The “Cast” of Beatlemania recalls the memories of that exciting era when the Fab Four ruled the world of rock ‘n’ roll. Probably the most celebrated of rock groups, The Beatles dominated rock music from the early 1960’s until they formally disbanded in 1970. Originally inspired by such U.S. performers as Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, and Buddy Holly, The Beatles recaptured most of the freshness and excitement of the earliest days of rock ‘n’ roll.

Classic Skynyrd Live, presented by James Damico’s Sun Concerts, performs all of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s fan favorites, from Free Bird, Simple Man, That Smell, Sweet Home Alabama, Gimme Three Steps, Call Me the Breeze, I Know a Little and so many more. Southern Steel performs spot on renditions of the Allman Brother’s Band, The Marshall Tucker Band, 38 Special, The Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot, and many more.
