Free Health Screenings and Activities at CHEMED in Recognition of Nat’l. Health Center Week

CHEMED (The Center for Health Education, Medicine and Dentistry), a federally qualified health care center, 1771 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, N.J., is inviting the public to participate in free screenings, health-related events and giveaways for adults and children, Wednesday, August 13 and Thursday, 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in recognition of National Health Center Week.

On August 13 and 14: Attendees will receive information about immunizations, speech therapy, tummy time for infants, diabetes, asthma, nutrition and the Affordable Care Act.

• Wednesday, August 13:

10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. –BMI Screening (Amerigroup)
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. – Cholesterol and Blood Pressure Screenings; Caricatures

10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. – Dermascan, self-skin analysis (Horizon NJ Health)
11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. – Make Brushing Fun (CHEMED)
11:00 a.m. – Meet Your Elected Officials: State Senator Robert
Singer, Assemblyman Dave Rible, and Lakewood

12:00 to 1:00 p.m. – Coloring Contest

• Thursday, August 14:

10:a.m. to 12:00 p.m. – Free Kids Dental Screening for children ages 5-13
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. – Dermascan, self-skin analysis (Horizon NJ Health)
12:00 to 1:00 p.m. – Coloring Contest

National Health Center Week, August 10-16, 2014, recognizes the outstanding role of community health centers as a safety net for underserved populations by delivering comprehensive, high-quality preventive and primary health care to patients regardless of their ability to pay.
