January Shows at the Strand Theater, Lakewood

The Strand Center for the Arts, 400 Clifton Avenue, Lakewood, N.J., is featuring several shows this January:

1.January 12: Is His Dream Here Yet?
No, is the answer most people would answer if you asked them if they were prejudiced. Is His Dream Here Yet is a drama with mini skits that allows the audience member to examine himself or herself. Find out if you judge people by the content of their character or otherwise. Not suitable for audience members under 16. One performance only. Doors open at 6:00. Show begins at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets cost $20 (including fees). This performance is a Backstage Pass. The audience will sit on the stage during the performance. LIMITED SEATING.

2.January 13: Almost Queen with Special Guest Steve Leonard

Considered THE most authentic QUEEN tribute show since the days of QUEEN themselves. A deliberate four piece band, Almost Queen delivers a live performance showcasing signature four-part harmonies and intricate musical interludes. Donning genuine costumes, Almost Queen recaptures the live energy and precision needed to deliver the ultimate Queen tribute experience. Doors open at 6:30. Show begins at 8:00 p.m.

Tickets range from $39.00 to $59.00

3. January 19: Meet Loaf: The Ultimate Tribute to Meat Loaf
The “Meet Loaf” tribute show epitomizes the Meat Loaf experience in a look-a-like and sound-a-like event that leaves audiences awestruck. A world-class show that delivers the powerful wide-ranging male and female operatic lead vocals, along with the epic theatrical elements that Meat Loaf fans have come to love, in an unforgettable evening of smash hits. If you love the music of Meat Loaf, get revved up because Meet Loaf really ignites! For crying out loud, and in the words of the Meat Loaf legend himself, “Keep Rockin’!” Doors at 6:30 PM, Show at 8:00 PM.

About the Strand Theater: The historic Strand Theater, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit at 400 Clifton Ave., Lakewood, was designed by world-renowned theater architect Thomas Lamb in 1922 and is listed on the N.J. and National Register of Historic Places. The Strand offers year-round entertainment in plush, air-conditioned surroundings. It is a perfect venue to showcase comedians, musicals, dinner theater, stars from television and movies, and legendary musical entertainers. Nationally renowned acts, including Milton Berle, Loudon Wainwright, George Burns, Don McLean, Louie CK, Taylor Swift, Charlie Daniels, George Carlin, and many more have all taken the state at the Strand Theater. The reception gallery includes a catering facility for 80 people, a dance floor, and restrooms. It is ideal for theater-in-the-round, smaller events and receptions.
