Stephanie Kulak, Flourtown, Pennsylvania, has been named Corporate Clinical Director for Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services (PHHC), with offices in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. As corporate clinical director, Kulak’s duties include overseeing all clinical operations of the organization, and being responsible for maintaining licensure, accreditation, and certification as per individual state requirements.

Before joining Preferred, Kulak worked for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals as a specialty representative, responsible for understanding managed care market dynamics and medical coverage for products, and communicating this information to physicians and staff. Prior to that, Kulak worked for more than 10 years at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where she was chairwoman for the Quality and Assurance Committee in the ICU. She later oversaw a neurosurgical practice as part of a team conducting research to facilitate changes to policy and procedures in addition to patient management.

Kulak began her career at Preferred in 2009 as an Assistant Director of Nursing in the Bala Cynwyd office. There she expanded Preferred’s operations to its second Pennsylvania location in Bensalem, establishing licensure, accreditation, and certification for the company. Kulak then became Director of Nursing and later Regional Director of Nursing for the Southeast office of PHHC, where she was responsible for CHAP (Community Health Accreditation Partner) accreditation, Medicare compliance, and ensuring continued compliance with Home Health Care Standards of Practice.

Kulak, a Registered Nurse (RN), holds a BSN in nursing from the University of Delaware and a Master of Science (MSN) in Nursing, Administration and Management from Aspen University, Denver, Colorado.

Kulak is a member of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership; American Nurses Association; Pennsylvania Homecare Association; Home Care & Hospice Association of New Jersey; and the Homeless Health Initiative at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She serves on the Board of Directors, Committee to Benefit the Children, St. Christopher’s Hospital, Philadelphia; is a Community Health Accreditation Partner Independent Consultant; and an Aspen University Honor Society Board Member.

Jonathan Herman, COO of Preferred, said, “This promotion is the latest in a string of well-deserved accomplishments for Stephanie. She has worked tirelessly over the last decade to ensure Preferred operated with a solid clinical foundation and we look forward to her continuing to infuse that thinking in our organization in her new position.”
