OHI Offering Diabetes Testing This November for Diabetes Awareness Month

In recognition of Diabetes Awareness Month, OHI (Ocean Health Initiatives), a federally qualified health care center, is offering A1c testing at its locations in Lakewood, Toms River, and Manahawkin.

Each site will have diabetic supplies and giveaways; and Israel Arroyo, chronic care coordinator for OHI, will present a half-hour educational seminar Managing Your Diabetes at 3:00 p.m. on all testing days. OHI pharmacists Vijay Vohra and Nancy Karroum will be available to discuss diabetic medication management.

The testing will be given noon to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 5, 101 Second Street, Lakewood; noon to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 13 at 333 Haywood Road, Manahawkin; and noon to 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 15 at 301 Lakehurst Road, Toms River. Most insurances are accepted. The cost for uninsured patients is $4.00.
