OHI to Participate in Mobile Mexican Consulate Event in Lakewood

Ocean Health Initiatives (OHI), a federally qualified health center, will be providing several services to the Lakewood Hispanic community during an event hosted by the mobile program, Mexican Consulate on Wheels, Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the Calvary Lighthouse Church, 1133 East County Line Road, Building B (Calvary Academy), Lakewood, N.J., from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The OHI Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) will be on site to give glucose and blood pressure screenings, and provide education and information about OHI’s medical services to insured, uninsured and underinsured people of Ocean County and the Mexican community in Lakewood. They will also be providing information on OHI’s participation in the Veterans Choice Program.

The Outreach and Enrollment staff of OHI will provide guidance about the Affordable Care Act (ACA), answer questions, explain any changes, and discuss options under Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare.

The Mobile Mexican Consulate, which covers Ocean County, N.J., will host such documentation services as renewing and applying for passports and consular identification cards for about 150 people, but not limited to, the Mexican population in and around Lakewood.
