Rotary Club of Toms River to Host Sailfest 2018
Rotary Club of Toms River is hosting its 27th annual Sailfest, a charity regatta and street fair, Saturday, September 8, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at River Avenue, Island Heights, N.J. All proceeds will benefit local charities and high school scholarships.
Sailfest, a free family event open to the public, features an early morning sailing regatta on the Toms River, crafters; exhibitors; vendors; food vendors, including food trucks; inflatable kiddie rides and a kids’ zone; a cash 50/50 raffle; adult beverages for purchase; Sailfest T-shirts and sweatshirts for sale; an onsite ATM; glow sticks; and a chance to win a $100 Bum Rogers gift card at the Rotary Club of Toms River’s tent.
The Sailfest Reflection Ceremony, a special ceremony to honor brave men and women who lost their lives on 9/11 and for those who have served and continue to serve our country, is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on the main stage. The ceremony will end with a wreath laying at Letter Park, on River Avenue opposite the end of the main stage.
The official radio sponsor of Sailfest is 100.1 WJRZ. Other sponsors include Downs Ford, Ocean County Tourism, JCP&L, IH Homes LLC, Sen Realty, Sunrun, Investors Bank, The Martin Agency, and Clarion Hotel & Conference Center. Mojo Monks will provide music during the day and Garden State Radio, a beach party band, will present an evening concert from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.
