Toy Drive to Benefit Underprivileged Children at OHI

Posted on December 8, 2011 By

Visit Santa at the Ocean County Mall, Toms River, Sunday, December 11, 2011, from noon to 2:00 p.m. and donate new, unwrapped toys that will be given to underprivileged children who are patients at OHI (Ocean Health Initiatives), a federally qualified health center, in Lakewood, Toms River, and Manahawkin.

The radio station B-98.5 (WBBO-FM), Press Communications, is a sponsor for OHI to collect as many toys as possible this holiday season. The toy drive will be set up directly across from Santa in the center of the mall. The radio station will also be raffling off prizes to all those who donate toys, including a $200.00 Simon Gift Card, and give participants a chance to be on the radio.

The Social Services Team at all three OHI locations will distribute one donated toy to the patients seen during December at their scheduled appointment.  Toys typically range from birth to 12 years of age.

Parents who would like their child—OHI patients only—to receive a toy donation should call OHI at the Call Center at 732-363-6655, Lakewood) to schedule an appointment at any one of the three OHI sites.

Dr. Theresa Berger, CEO of OHI, says, “With the help of the public, we hope to brighten the day of those who need assistance during the holiday, especially the children.”

For further information, contact Jennifer Corey, marketing coordinator of OHI, at the 732-719-9026.
