Robert Sickel, Brick, owner of Pine Belt Cars, Lakewood, and Chairman of Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus Foundation (2013-Present), was honored at the annual Humanitarian Gala of MMCSC, this October at the Eagle Oaks Country Club, Farmingdale, N.J. for his ongoing volunteer work and dedicated service. Each year the foundation honors members of the hospital community whose philanthropy and leadership contributions have furthered the success of Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus (MMCSC).

Sickel donated $300,000 directly to local families in need after Hurricane Sandy in Restore the Shore, a Hurricane Sandy relief effort he headed. He received, organized, and shipped more than $5MM worth of donated goods to local families. From 2016-2019, until COVID stopped it, Sickel partnered with the Toms River School district in a program called Toms River Driven to Excellence. This program promoted students who went above and beyond, not specifically with grades but with attendance, helping other students, and just being a good citizen. At the end of the year the winner won a brand new Chevrolet!

Sickel donated $750K to Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus to support the Pine Belt Infusion Center. He also hosts Flavors of the Jersey Shore, a Food and Wine Event for about 400 people at various showrooms, sponsored and hosted by Rob Sickel, to fund Cancer services. Sickel was also a founding sponsor of Toms River Field of Dreams, 3.5-acre parcel of Bey Lea Park (North Bay Avenue), a special needs playground /sports center for special needs children, including children in wheelchairs and walkers, where they can play on a playground that they would not otherwise be able to.

Sickel’s dedication in helping others includes paying off any unpaid school lunch balances at holiday time for underprivileged children/families who attend school in local school districts; supporting and donating to the Valerie Fund, which provides comprehensive care to children with cancer and blood disorders and provides individualized care to children at medical centers close to home; and contributing $24,000 to Point Pleasant Boro Schools for the next five years to have Pine Belt Enterprises fund the naming rights for at the Al Saner Field.

Sickel is also a Board of Trustees Member of Monmouth Medical Center (2017-Present); Chairman of Medical Policy Subcommittee of Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus (2019-Present); Chairman of Community Action Committee, of Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus Foundation (2020-Present); Member of Human Resources Committee of Monmouth Medical Center North and South Campus (2018-Present); and Member of Barnabas Behavioral Health (2020-Present).

Among others, Sickel’s awards include Man of the Year, 2013, Pt. Pleasant Elks Honoree; 40 Under 40, Automotive News, 2016; MODC Community Service Award, 2017; and Chevrolet Dealer of the Year 2000, ’02-’05, ’07, ’10, ’17, ’19.
