Assemblyman Ned Thomson to Speak at May 17 Ocean ELC Meeting

Assemblyman Ned Thomson, 30th Legislative District, will be discussing NJ’s fiscal situation and the upcoming budget battle at the Ocean County ELC (Employer Legislative Committee) meeting and breakfast Friday, May 17, 2019, from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the at the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center, 815 Route 37 West, Toms River, N.J. Assemblyman. 

Assemblyman Thomson serves as a member of the Assembly Budget, Education and Telecommunications and Utilities Committees.

Frank Robinson, VP of NJBIA (NJ Business and Industry Association) will be updating attendees about business-related topics from Trenton and their affect on businesses and the local community.

About Assemblyman Edward H. “Ned” Thomson, Assemblyman Thomson, a lifelong resident of Monmouth County, began his legislative career in 2017 and was subsequently re-elected in the fall of that year.  He represents 14 towns in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Prior to joining the Legislature, Assemblyman Thomson was Trustee of the New Jersey Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) for more than 20 years.  He also served on the Wall Township Committee for a decade where he was twice elected Mayor.  In addition, he was a member of the Wall Township Planning Board and Board of Adjustment.

An enrolled actuary, Assemblyman Thomson is the owner of E.H. Thomson & Company, Inc. Consulting Actuaries where he administers more than 500 pension plans.  He is a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries and a member of the Society of Pension Actuaries and the American Academy of Actuaries.  He is also a certified Continuing Education provider for the New Jersey Board of Accountancy and the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance.

Assemblyman Thomson is an experienced pilot who volunteers with Angel Flights which provides free trips for patients with serious illnesses for treatment at hospitals.  In addition, he volunteers for the Junior Olympics and other major youth and intercollegiate sailing events and is a race official with U.S. Sailing.

Assemblyman Thomson attended Neptune High School and Blair Academy and continued his education at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and the College of Insurance.  He has three grown children and resides in Wall Township with his wife.
