Classes are scheduled to meet via Zoom on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Participants must also attend in-person clinical labs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. in either Galloway at 323 E. Preferred Home Health Care Announces Winner of Its Student Nursing Scholarship
Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services (PHHC), Eatontown, with offices in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, has announced the winner of its Student Nursing Scholarship, a $500 award given twice a year for current student nurses living or going to school in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Delaware.
The winner is Alisa Adebamowo, from Orange, New Jersey, a first-year nursing student seeking to become an RN. She is currently earning an A.A. degree in applied science at Eastern International College, Belleville Campus, 251Washington Avenue, Belleville, N.J. 07109.

Strand Theater Holds Virtual Reorganization Meeting–Board Officers Elected
A new executive board for the historic Strand Theater, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit at 400 Clifton Ave., Lakewood, was recently elected for a one-year term. Amy Freeman, New Egypt, Plumsted Township special education teacher, will serve as president. Andrei Jackamets, Howell, owner of Andrei Jackamets Photography, is vice president; Karen Stafford-Smith, Jackson, a retired Plumsted Township teacher, is treasurer; and Ervin Oross, Mantoloking, secretary.
Freeman said, “Our beloved Strand Theater, the cultural center of Ocean County, finds itself in a time of both recovery and resilience. Lakewood Industrial Commission Holds Virtual Reorg Meeting
The Lakewood Industrial Commission (LIC), established in 1960 and made up of volunteer commissioners, recently held its annual reorganizational meeting. The LIC is charged with promoting the economic well-being of businesses in Lakewood Township; and overseeing the Lakewood airport, the historic Strand Theater, the BlueClaws stadium, and the Lakewood Industrial Parks, the second largest industrial park system in New Jersey, which contains more than 600 businesses that support 15,000+ jobs.
Both Greg Stafford-Smith, co-owner of Welcome Home Investments, a company that buys and sells homes; and Thomas Calabro, owner of Twin City Jewelers, were sworn in for a five-year term on the LIC board.
In the election of its officers, Robert Kirschner, owner of Robert Kirschner Real Estate, was voted chairman of the LIC. Kirschner has served on the board since 1985. Other officers for 2021 include Justin Flancbaum, vice chairman, who is executive director of the Lakewood Municipal Utilities Authority (MUA); and Greg Stafford-Smith, secretary. Other LIC commissioners include Hal Halvorsen, Shlomo Katz, and Edwin J. Schuster.
Lakewood Township Committeeman Michael D’Elia will serve as liaison and Sean T. Kean Esq. was designated the attorney for the LIC.
Steven Reinman, executive director of the LIC, said, “We thank these LIC commissioners for their dedication in helping Lakewood’s continued growth and economic development. We have many exciting projects planned for this year and I can always count on our commissioners for their insight and help.”

She is responsible for data and processes in HR, and works with clients on HR Analytics, HR Technology, Diversity Analytics, and EEO Compliance. Previously, Broderick was Senior Consultant with DeFoe Associates, a consulting firm that implements and optimizes HR technology. She was responsible for process improvement, data analytics, diversity analytics consulting, and regulatory reporting. Broderick worked with clients, such as Biogen and Daiichi Sankyo. Broderick was also Manager, Strategic Data at Prudential Financial. She was responsible for affirmative action and diversity data management, analytics and for keeping Prudential’s systems in compliance.
Broderick holds a B.A. from Kean University and an M.A. from Monmouth University. She was a member of SHRM’s National HR Tech Expertise Panel from 2012 to 2019 and is a current member of SHRM’s Diversity & Inclusion Expertise Panel.
