Since 1986, the Carol Kientz Member of the Year Award has been given to an individual who has gone above and beyond in involvement and commitment to the Home Care & Hospice Association of N.J., and its mission to promote the betterment of the home care and hospice industry in New Jersey.

This year Todd Thiede, Hoboken, CFO of Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services (PHHC), Eatontown, will be the recipient of this award on June 6, 2019, at Caesars, Atlantic City, at the 2019 conference of the Home Care & Hospice Association of N.J.

Thiede serves as treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors of the Home Care & Hospice Association of N.J., and is active on its Political Action and Finance, and Government Affairs committees.

Nancy Fitterer, president & CEO of the Home Care & Hospice Association of N.J., said, “Todd’s commitment to home care is unparalleled. His tireless advocacy helps not only the patients that Preferred serves, but all of their employees as he strives to get them better wages and benefits. It has been a pleasure to work side by side with Todd as we tackle the many issues that face home care in New Jersey.”

Thiede was named 2018 Humanitarian of the Year of the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation 2018 and CFO of the Year (2017) by Corporate Vision Magazine. He serves on the board of directors of Circle of Life, an organization that provides support for families and palliative care for children who are terminally ill. He attends meetings of the New Jersey Board of Nursing to expedite certification and the licensure process, and is trying to lift the moratorium on new LPN schools. In his active role with payer sources, he focuses on the need for increased rates for home care companies.

Thiede earned a B.S. in accounting in 1999 from Rutgers University, New Brunswick. Prior to joining PHHC, Thiede spent several years on Wall Street working for Goldman Sachs as a Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis.

Thiede is a proud Eagle Scout, and husband and father of two.
