Hot Issues in Employment Law – HR Legal Seminar

The Jersey Shore Association for Human Resources (JSAHR), a Silver Excel award winner of SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management), is hosting its annual legal seminar sponsored and presented by attorneys in the Jackson Lewis law firm, Thursday, November 14, 2013, 8:30 a.m. to noon at Jumping Brook Country Club, 210 Jumping Brook Road, Neptune, N.J.

The registration fee for the seminar and a full buffet breakfast is $60.00 for JSAHR members, $90.00 for nonmembers, and $50.00 for students and those in (job) transition. Approval for three credit hours toward PHR and SPHR recertification is pending.

Topics include recent legislation and developments, such as NLRB board confirmations and their impact; Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA); Affordable Care Act exchange notifications; SAFE-domestic violence leave; social media law; amendment to Salary Secrecy Law; and the intersection of The Family and Medical Leave Act, The Americans with Disabilities Act, Worker’s Compensation, short- and long-term disability laws, among other topics. Participants will have an opportunity for questions and answers at the end of the seminar.
