Jersey Shore Association for Human Resources Awards Two Scholarships

JSAHR (Jersey Shore Association of Human Resources), a human resources organization that provides two annual scholarships to support its commitment to education and the advancement of the Human Resources profession, has awarded two Ann C. Edwards scholarships.

Amanda Gallomardo, Manalapan, received $1000 toward her college studies at Sacred Heart University, Connecticut, where she is enrolled as an accelerated Bachelor/Masters Program in Occupational Therapy. She is active in co-curriculum programs, including being the Assistant Chairperson of Sisterhood Development for the Phi Sigma Sorority. She is the daughter of JSAHR member Lisa Wheeler.

Sandra Shea, Freehold, received a $500 JSAHR member scholarship to complete her professional certification through the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM). Shea who will be certified this February, serves on the JSAHR Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She is the Human Resources and Benefits Manager for Freehold Cartage, Freehold, New Jersey.

The Ann C. Edwards SPHR Scholarship is given annually as a tribute to Ann C. Edwards, the founding member of JSAHR who served in various board and leadership roles in human resources profession nationally and in New Jersey, including being president of JSAHR. She is the co-author of “Putting Your Best Foot Forward,” a program designed to help individuals prepare for the job search process. She was also a director on the Garden State Council of Human Resources and active in the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) on the national level. She is now retired and living in Florida.
