Lakewood Recreation Department Announces Its Fall Schedule

The Lakewood Recreation Department has released its schedule of fall youth and adult programs that will begin September 29, 2014.

Registration is $10.00 for Co-ed instructional and league play soccer at the John Patrick Sports Center, Vine Street, Lakewood. On Wednesdays and Fridays, children ages 4-6 are scheduled from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.; children ages 7-9 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.; and children ages 10-12 from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, children ages 4-6 are scheduled from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.; children 7 – 9 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; and children ages 10 – 12 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.

Join some of the top wrestling coaches to learn the conditioning, discipline, and skill to become a top wrestler in “Escape” Wrestling Instruction for grades 1 – 12, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the Lakewood High School (LHS) wrestling room. The registration fee is $5.00.

Children, Grades K – 5, can enjoy a free Youth Fun Night with reading, arts and crafts, play time and much more on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the Ella G. Clarke School, 455 Manetta Avenue.

Participate in Adult Open Gym, including basketball, volleyball, weight room, and indoor track, Lakewood High School Gymnasium, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The sign-in fee is $2:00 for each visit.

Free adult arts & crafts; and knitting and crocheting programs are scheduled Monday through Thursday, at the Lakewood Community Center, Fourth Street: Monday, Jewelry Making, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Crochet, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; Wednesday, Knitting, 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.; Wednesday, Art Schedule, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; and Thursday, Rubber Stamping,11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Halloween Parade, Lakewood Town Square, sponsored by the Lakewood Police Department, Lakewood Fire Department, EMS, and Lakewood Township Recreation will take place Thursday, October 30th at 4:00 p.m. Events include free face painting, a costume parade, D.J, and free trick or treat candy bags.
