Lt. Governor Kim Gaudagno to Address Businesses in Lakewood
The Lakewood Development Corporation (LDC), the administrative arm of the Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ), and the New Jersey State’s Business Action Center (BAC) are hosting the workshop, “N.J. Resources for Business Growth” followed by business-to-business networking, Wednesday, September 5, 2012, beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Historic Lakewood Strand, 400 Clifton Avenue, Lakewood.
Lt. Governor Kim Gaudagno is the keynote speaker. Networking and an opportunity to meet with agency representatives about their programs and incentives will follow the Lt. Governor’s address. Among others, representatives from the following N.J. State departments will be available to answer questions one-on-one:
Board of Public Utilities, Business Action Center, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Economic Development Authority, Small Business Development Center, State Library, Department of Treasury, the Lakewood Urban Enterprise Zone, The Lakewood Foreign Trade Zone #235.
Patricia Komsa, the executive director, of the UEZ, said, “This is an excellent opportunity for businesses to meet one-on-one with local and state agencies to learn about incentives and gather information. In addition, this an easy way to do business-to-business networking.”

About the UEZ: The Urban Enterprise Zone program was designed to foster economic growth to revitalize and stimulate designated urban communities. The program encourages businesses to create private-sector jobs though public and private investment.
More than 8,000 businesses throughout the state and more than 500 businesses in Lakewood benefit from tax and financial incentives. Personnel from the Lakewood UEZ are available to discuss program eligibility and answer questions.
