The Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce (OJChamber) and the GNYC (Greater New York Chamber) are inviting manufacturers, importers, and exporters to a forum and reception for World Trade Week on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the general Society Library, 20 West 44th Street, New York City.

Although the event is taking place in New York, World Trade Week focuses on bringing together New York and New Jersey businesses who share the same ports. The goal of this event is for businesses in the Trade, Import, and Export industries to make connections, get information and guidance, and connect with the highest level operators and decision makers.

Attendees include Council generals, trade ministers, and government officials. Meet Israel’s Economic Trade Minister Anat Katz. Hear from a panel of industry trade leaders, such as Commissioner Edward Mermelstein, New York City’s Mayor’s Office of International Affairs; Brian Teubner, International Trade Manager Global NY, Empire State Development; TASC, Turkish American National Steering Committee; Bethann Rooney, Port Director, Port Authority NY-NJ Air-Land-Rail-Sea; and the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments, and Aviation.

The event begins with a reception at 5:00 p.m. and an opportunity for high-end networking with business, civic, and trade leaders who successfully export billions of dollars of products and services to countries world-wide. At 6:00 p.m., a trade panel will answer questions about the basics of exporting. Panelists include Mermelstein and Teubner.
At 7:00 p.m. the panel will be followed by a “Trusted Trading Partner” awards ceremony during which Israel, Turkey, Guatemala, Italy, and South Africa will recognized, followed by a Q & A and more networking. Among other accomplishments, the Orthodox Jewish Chamber and TASC will celebrate the peace they facilitated with Turkey and Israel through trade and will recognize them as uniting the world via commerce.
