Potter & LaMarca Merges into Cg Tax, Audit & Advisory

Cg Tax, Audit & Advisory (Cg), an accounting and consulting firm with offices at 1268 Route 37 West, Toms River, and 730 Hope Road, Tinton Falls, and Potter & LaMarca LLP, of Staten Island, N.Y., and Red Bank, N.J., will merge this January 2023. Potter & LaMarca will join Cg in its Tinton Falls office and maintain its office in Staten Island.

The merger will bring additional capabilities to both firms in tax preparation and planning, accounting and advisory services, and financial statements and planning.

Cg partners Don Cowan, CPA, PFS, PSA, CFP®, and R. Joseph Gunteski, CPA, CFF, founded the firm in 1982. Cg provides such services as tax planning, business consulting, client accounting services, valuation, and compliance and auditing in a industries that include healthcare, professional services, construction, manufacturing and distribution, nonprofit, and more.

Jeffrey Potter, CPA, and Fred LaMarca, CPA, CFP, founded Potter & LaMarca in 1989. The firm is known for its knowledge in tax management and accounting services, audits, financial statements, and financial planning. Potter and LaMarca each have more than 40 years of public accounting experience and specialize in servicing closely held businesses and high net worth individuals.

He is a past president of the Staten Island Chapter of the New York State Society of CPAs.

Fred LaMarca focuses on tax planning and financial consulting for clients in the professional services, staffing companies, and real estate industries, and holds various securities and insurance licenses. LaMarca is a past president of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce and past president of the Staten Island Chapter of the New York State Society of CPAs.
