Roads to Be Repaved in the Lakewood Industrial Park

The Lakewood Industrial Commission (LIC) with the cooperation of the Township Committee is repaving several roads in the Lakewood Industrial Park through an arrangement with the Ocean County Road Department. With this arrangement, Ocean County makes road projects available, using their resources, at a lower cost than it would have been otherwise. As a result, the Lakewood Industrial Commission is funding the repaving and receiving work from the Ocean County Road Department at a significantly lower expense.

The roads scheduled to be repaved this August are Swarthmore Avenue (1500 feet), Bennett Boulevard (450 feet), Towbin Avenue (3,000 feet) and Oberlin Avenue (3,700 feet.) The repaving is expected to be completed within a month.

Steve Reinman, the executive director of the LIC, said, “I am very pleased that in cooperation with the Lakewood Township Committee and the County the LIC is able to bring such great value to the many important businesses in the Industrial Park. These repaved roads will make visiting the Park a more pleasant and safe experience for employees and customers alike.”

Committeeman Mike D’Elia said, “The Township Committee thanks the LIC very much for unanimously approving the funds to repave some roads in the Lakewood Industrial Park.”
