Sun Concerts presents the Best of the Eagles at the historic Strand Theater, 400 Clifton Avenue, Lakewood, on August 7, 2021. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The show begins at 8:00 p.m.
The Best of the Eagles are a group of musicians who expertly and authentically re-create the songs, the music, the vocals, and the magical aura of one of America’s greatest rock bands. Each member in the Best of the Eagles mirrors his counterpart instrumentally and vocally.

Ciavolino Appointed Executive Director of SCAN
Mike Ciavolino, Oceanport, has been appointed the Executive Director of SCAN (Senior Citizens Activities Network) of Monmouth and Ocean counties, a non-profit adult education and resource center, Eatontown, founded in 1988. Ciavolino is replacing retiring Executive Director Pat Bohse, who has led the organization for the past ten years.
As Executive Director of SCAN, Ciavolino is responsible for the staff, programming, and fiscal development of SCAN. The organization provides the community with programming to promote healthy lifestyles, continuing education, and access to community and economic resources to keep seniors active, healthy, and connected. Throughout 2020, SCAN conducted virtual classes to more than 400 seniors and financial literacy through the Benefit Enrollment Center to 386 limited income seniors.
Ciavolino said, “I am very excited to begin my role as the new Executive Director of SCAN. It is truly an honor to be a part of a dedicated team here that serves Monmouth and Ocean counties’ seniors – the lifeblood of our communities.”
Ciavolino, the CEO of the marketing agency Shore Creative Group, Oceanport, is the immediate past president Jersey Shore Association for Human Resources (JSAHR). He is on the board of directors of MODC (Monmouth Ocean Development Council), Wall Township; and a member of NAHCR, SHRM, and CRA (Corporate Resource Alliance).
He and his wife Laura are parents of 16-year-old triplets, two of whom are on the Autism Spectrum. Ciavolino is about to release his book SuperParent, which is written for parents of special needs children.

The Strand Theater Is Opening This August!
The historic Strand Theater, 400 Clifton Avenue, Lakewood, is “Shaking Off The Cobwebs” with a new concert series designed to welcome patrons back to the theater and artists back to the stage. Closed to the public since October 2020, the Strand stage will be lit once again on August 6, August 21, and September 24, with concerts, sponsored by Ray Coles.
Rod Picott, a renowned Americana artist and author will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of his first show at the Strand on Friday, August 6, at 8:00 p.m. Picott will play a selection of songs from his catalog, including many from his latest release “Wood, Steel, Dust And Dreams,” a collection of songs he penned with good friend Slaid Cleaves that includes their breakthrough hit “Broke Down.”
Perhaps best known for penning “Part of The Union,” one of The Strawbs’ biggest hits, John Ford has just released a new album “Life in A Foreign Town.” Ford and his band return to the Strand on August 21 at 8:00 p.m. for their first show in front of a live audience in more than a year. As a special thank you, Ford is giving each patron a copy of the new CD.
On September 24 at 8:00 p.m., Iain Matthews celebrates his long delayed 50th Anniversary show at the Strand. A founding member of Fairport Convention, Matthews Southern Comfort and Plainsong, Matthews will perform many of his hits over the past half century.

Jersey Shore Association for HR Announces Ann C. Edwards Scholarship Winners
The Jersey Shore Association for Human Resources (JSAHR) has announced the 2021 recipients of the Ann C. Edwards Scholarships. This year’s recipients are Alyssa Marie Bannach, the daughter of JSAHR member Lori Skowrenski Bannach; and Grace Huntington, the daughter of member Carolyn Broderick.
Bannach, Jackson, N.J., attends Jackson Liberty High School. She received $1000 to further her education at Ocean County College. Huntington, Hazlet, N.J., attends Mater Dei Prep School, Middletown, N.J. She will use her $500 scholarship to attend Brookdale Community College.
These scholarships, awarded annually to the son or daughter of a JSAHR member, are part of JSAHR’s commitment to building the future through the education of young adults. JSAHR, an affiliate of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), is an organization dedicated to the advancement of Human Resources professionals within Monmouth and Ocean counties.
The scholarship is named in honor of Ann C. Edwards. Edwards, who is retired, was a founding member and past president of the JSAHR. She had a long and distinguished career in the New Jersey HR field. Among other accomplishments, Edwards served as the Workforce Development Director for the Garden State Council of HR for many years; and was one of the founders of the Putting Your Best Foot Forward Program, a school to work job guide.

Labrosciano Named Regional Manager of Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services
Alison Labrosciano, Folsom, Pennsylvania, has been named regional manager for Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services (PHHC), with offices in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. As regional manager, Labrosciano will manage the Bala Cynwyd office and help expand Preferred’s Delaware presence.
Labrosciano, a 10-year veteran of Preferred, has had roles in HR, managing Bensalem and Bala Cynwyd employees and offices, and spearheading Preferred’s Delaware expansion.

Brownstein to Serve as President of HR Group
Eveline Brownstein, Rumson, has been selected to be the 2021-2023 president of JSAHR (Jersey Shore Assoc. for HR). She is the director of human resources for Stern Strategy Group, a PR firm and Speakers Bureau with offices in Iselin.
Brownstein said, “I am honored and humbled to have been elected to lead such a vibrant and active chapter. Holman Frenia Allison, PC (HFA), a full-service certified accounting and advisory firm that serves government agencies, authorities, not-for-profit organizations, commercial businesses, construction companies, and individuals celebrated its 25th year in business and a move of its headquarters to 1985 Cedar Bridge Avenue, Suite 3, Lakewood, from 680 Hooper Avenue in Toms River. HFA employees also give back to communities on a monthly basis. For example, employees collected slightly used shoes in April and donated them to a school in Monmouth County where the student collecting them received hours towards her honors program. In May, employees participated in Punch-A-Thon and a Walk for Cystic Fibrosis.
